Bodega Canopus
“Vinos del frio”, Canopus’ tag line comes the unique microclimate that its vineyards enjoy in the south of the Valle de Uco. The 10 hectares of Malbec, Pinot noir and Semillon are located between the Río Tunuyán and the Arroyo de los Papagayos, at 990m elevation. Cold air from the Andes keeps temperatures lower than the surrounding region, and frosts are a constant enemy in the spring and the grapes ripen slowly on the vine. This climate, in addition to the well draining calcareous soils, produces some excellent fruit. The vineyard management is certified biodynamic and organic, with great emphasis placed on respect for the environment.
Wine maker Gabriel Dvoskin seeks purity and subtlety with minimal intervention in the winemaking process. The result is a portfolio of wines which reflect a strong sense of place, intentionality and character.
